I love an eating plan that I can eat yummy foods and still lose or maintain my weight. Portion-control is accountability and freedom!
It took me a while to cook the steel-cut oats, but I cooked enough for a couple of days. The cool thing is that my family can eat the same food that I eat… I just have to control my portion. 😃
Here is the Recipe for 1 serving:
1 cup water
1 pinch sea salt or Himalayan salt (Mineralize)
1/4 cup steel-cut oats
1 tsp. smooth all-natural peanut or almond butter, no sugar added
2 tbsp. unsweetened almond milk
1 cup sliced strawberries
- Bring water and salt to a boil in medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low.
- Add oats; cook, stirring frequently, for 15 to 20 minutes, or until water is just absorbed. Remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Add peanut butter; mix well. if too thick, add almond milk.
- Top with strawberries.
